II. Valentin Clastrier Ensemble (Auvidis Silex CD Y 225070).

NOTE: This collaboration with the Cathar Country Development Program seeks to marry new works composed in an ancient style with an instrument appropriate to the time.
As Clastrier writes: " My guiding purpose has been to make music inspired by the heresy of the Cathars which would allow every possible shift in time, place, language. By coincidence,
the forerunner of the wheeled vielle appeared at the same time as the Cathar heresy in Occitania, about the year 1000. With its archaic and modern features, its gutsy shriek, its boundless
drone bowed out from a raw wound, is the vielle itself not a heresy?"
--El Castel (after Bernart da Ventadorn)
--Sonnerie glorieuse des armées du Pape
--Fin'amors de Flamenca
--Autochtone
